Best Gifts for People with ADHD

I made this list for people who are shopping for a loved one with ADHD.

I personally have ADHD and I know I would feel really touched if someone took the time to buy something ADHD related and thoughtful for me. I own most of the items on this list.

Many of these items are not “fun” gifts per se but they are thoughtful and will make life easier. And isn’t that a wonderful gift?

1.Tile and/or Apple AirTag

This is the most used item on this list for me. I actually own both! You can never have too many of these. You can attached them to your keys, bags, luggage, etc. INCREDIBLY useful.

2.Timer

Shop All Timers HERE

It’s pretty self explanatory, but timers are very helpful if you tend to lose track off time a lot. They are great for timing laundry loads, cooking, chores, work. etc.

I especially like this timer because it’s easy to use (just press one button and it starts) and it’s very cute.

3.Smart Bulbs

This one isn’t as straightforward, but let me explain.

  1. A lot of people with ADHD are sensitive to lighting.  You can control the brightness from your phone with many Smart Bulbs.
  2. You never have to remember if you turned off the lights when you leave the house. You can set everything up on a timer (that’s what I do!) or you can turn off the lights remotely using apps.

4.Smart Plugs

Shop Smart Plugs HERE

Very similar concept to the smart lights, but these are plugs that you can set up around your house and control with your phone.

You never have to run back home and make sure you unplugged the iron (or hair curler/straightener!). You can control everything from an app.

5.Wristlets and Coin Purses

These are easy to use, just grab and go. No need to worry about carrying around a large purse or accidently setting your wallet or keys down. They come in many colors and styles.

6.”Chore” Bracelets

Shop Bracelets HERE

This is something I discovered this year via a Facebook ADHD group and it’s had a HUGE impact on my life.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Label each bracelet with a chore or activity you need to get done.
  2. Put all the bracelets in a bowl.
  3. Pick one bracelet out and wear it until you finish the chore or activity.

I love this hack because it takes away one of the hardest parts of getting started: Deciding what to do first!

It’s also helpful because sometimes I get distracted mid-activity. Wearing the bracelet is a visual reminder to get back on task.

7.Magnetic Screw for Keys

Shop Magnetic Screws HERE

This is something I use everyday. It’s a very strong magnetic screw that you can install on lightwitches. I have one on the lightswitch near my front door. When I get home I put my keys on it.

A hook by a door serves the same purpose, BUT there is something really satisfying about the keys snapping in place on the magnet.

Plus this hack doesn’t damage any walls and it’s renter friendly.

8.Item Finder for the House

Shop Item Finders HERE

This product is a bit different from Tile/Apple AirTags. It comes with a remote and multiples tags you can attach to various household items that you often lose.

I like it because grabbing the remote is faster than opening an app. Plus sometimes I can’t find my phone in order to use an app.

I use this on remotes and other frequently misplaced items at home.

9.Spinner Rings

Shop Spinner Rings HERE

I love spinner rings. They are great for anxiety and fidgeting. They come in many different styles and colors so you can coordinate them to your personal aesthetic.

Plus they are very discrete unlike other fidget toys.

10. Magnetic Dry Erase Tiles

Shop Magnetic Dry Erase Tiles HERE

This is the same concept as a dry erase board but more fun.

You can write down individual tasks, etc on each tile, and then arrange them on the fridge. I find it more enjoyable to use than a traditional dry erase board.

11. Squishy Toys

These are so cute and so calming! Adults and children love them. They are fun to fidget with and tiny enough to take with you to school or work.
